About Hélène Drouin (NorthStar) was born in the Abitibi region of Québec. Although she spent most of her life growing up and living in the United States, she always maintained close ties to her ancestral roots. In 1986, she founded and directed Spider Moon Teaching Lodge, a spiritually based community in Windham, Maine. In 1989, she founded Sisters of the Sacred Spiral, which organizes and facilitates women’s spiritual gatherings in Maine, New Mexico, Florida, Québec, Norway and Denmark.
